Christmas is a time to give thanks - and I have many people to thank.

Dear fellow BC members,

I'd like to thank the entire BC Chapter board for their hard work and commitment.

My personal thanks to Ethel Rubio, who supports the chapter on a daily basis and works tirelessly behind the scenes.

This year has been a busy year. We had some fantastic events including Capital in Real Estate: Benchmarking Risk & Return, the launch of RICS Futures, an introduction to the new International Property Measurement Standards plus our first BC region Matrics event targeted at members entering, or not long having joined, the profession of surveying.

Next year is shaping up to be a busy and exciting year. In February we are hosting our 2nd annual Construction Seminar. This year’s topic is on BIM and we have an exciting panel put together. We are also going to continue with the roll out of our Matrics programme plus we will be hosting our annual Mark Hutchinson's Charity Reception.

And my thanks to all of you for coming out to events, interacting with the Chapter and being involved. As a final reminder, please remember to record all of your 2015 CPD ahead of the deadline by logging in to rics.org/cpdrecord.

I would like to wish each of you and your families a safe and happy Christmas and a healthy and successful year ahead,

Gareth David MRICS
British Columbia Chair, RICS
