On April 15, the New York Chapter hosted a roundtable discussion on the RICS US Commercial Property Monitor.

The session was sponsored by Cushman & Wakefield and Altus Group, and was held at the Cushman & Wakefield offices in midtown Manhattan.  Our global commercial property monitors are leading indicators of conditions in commercial property occupier and investor markets around the world. Simon Rubinsohn, RICS Chief Economist kicked off the session with a presentation on the most recent survey results, which pointed to a strong US commercial sector, despite slowing economic growth.

During the discussion following the presentation, there was agreement that the monitor would be relevant to the US market, and the group explored ways to increase US participation in the survey. There would be particular emphasis on New York and there was a commitment from several in the room to promote the monitor among their colleagues and business associates.
