RICS Governing Council has taken a number of decisions to better equip it to set our strategy and ensure the appropriate level of oversight that our profession and external stakeholders would expect. Amongst the changes are a move to two Council meetings a year, timed to fit with our cycle of planning and performance reporting.
Consequently, this year’s Annual General Meeting is scheduled to take place on 7 November 2017 in Toronto, Canada, to coincide with Council’s annual oversight meeting and the inauguration of Canada-based John Hughes FRICS as President. This will be the second occasion that the AGM is held outside the UK. As usual, RICS professionals may attend in person or virtually. We will issue full details closer to the time.
As a further consequence of this change, Governing Council has exercised its authority to amend the terms of office of the President and officers of Council. This year’s Presidency will continue until 7 November. Thereafter the presidential term will run for a period of 12 months ending with an AGM in November.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank EY for allowing Amanda to serve as RICS President beyond July.
