The construction and engineering industry has been riven with disputes for years. Disputes can damage business relationships and can also be extremely expensive and painstakingly slow to resolve. There is a growing appetite for methods that avoid conflict and better manage disputes when they do arise.

RICS Conflict Avoidance Process (CAP)

A fresh new approach to the avoidance of conflict, CAP helps parties to keep their projects on time and in budget. Parties using CAP will receive a fully reasoned report containing non-binding recommendations for how to resolve the issue they are grappling with.

A pledge to drive behaviour change

Several of the UK’s leading professional bodies for construction and engineering have joined a Coalition Group and pledged to help the industry reduce the costs of conflict and deliver major infrastructure and property development projects on time and on budget.
