    Before you start your application

    • If you haven’t already got an online RICS account, create a RICS account
    • Find the relevant documentation needed for your application (See section below)
    • Make sure you understand the join fees, which can be found here

    Submitting your application

    We require you to upload the following information; 

    • Qualification details and documentation, such as degree or proof of attendance.
    • Employment, detailed professional experience and counsellor membership number. More information on how to find a counsellor can be found here, please make sure your chosen counsellor has agreed to become your counsellor before completing your application form.
    • If you do not know your counsellor number at the time of completing the application form, you will need to notify RICS of your counsellor within 2 weeks of submitting your application.
    • Please have your credit card/debit card ready to make the payment. If you are making an apprentice or corporate application you do not need to pay at this point. If you are from the following countries UAE, Singapore, China, India, mainland USA and Canada, we will need to contact you for payment.

    After you apply

    • Once your application has been submitted and you have paid the correct fee, and your application will be assessed and verified you will receive communication that your application has been successful.
    • You have a ‘cooling off period off’ period of 14 days to withdraw your application
    • All Students & Candidates registered with RICS are Regulated Members and are bound by RICS’ Charter, Bye-Laws, Regulations, Rules of Conduct, Standards and Guidance.

    Membership Routes

    There are two main types of RICS qualification - Associate member (AssocRICS) and Chartered member (MRICS). Each require you to pass an assessment. We offer different flexible ways through the assessment process, and will support you throughout your journey to qualifying as a member.

    **If you apply for these routes your application will go through a vetting process. You will be notified how long this process will take once you have successfully applied.

    Enrol at any time in your career

    You can enrol at any time in your career as long as you meet one of our eligibility requirements before applying for assessment. Student members can also begin their qualification process if they are on work placement as part of an RICS-accredited degree.
