The discounted cash flow (DCF) technique is one of the main methods used when carrying out commercial property valuations and can also be implemented as a tool for investigating development viability and investment analysis.

During the course, the trainer will cover key techniques and different applications of using DCF model through combining technical references and practical exercises. Real-life case studies will also be shared during the course that will support consolidating the knowledge through an open discussion environment.

Meet the trainer

Professor Sr Dr Ting Kien Hwa, FRICS, FRISM, MMIPFM, MPEPS, Chartered Surveyor, Registered Valuer, Estate Agent & Property Manager

Professor Sr Dr Ting Kien Hwa is currently the Head of Centre for Real Estate Research (CORE Research), Universiti Teknologi MARA, Shah Alam, Malaysia and also the Council Member of the Malaysian Institute of Property & Facilities Managers (MIPFM), Academic Member of Asia Public Real Estate Association (APREA), a Board member of the Pacific Rim Real Estate Society, RICS Malaysia Board member (2012-2018), a Council member of the Royal Institution of Surveyors Malaysia (2011-2016) and a member of the National NAPREC Expert Panel (INSPEN).

Professor Ting has been the Editor for The Malaysian Surveyor and Founding Editor of the International Surveying Research Journal. He is now launching a new journal for the Malaysian Institute of Property and Facilities Managers.

Professor Ting has published over 50 articles in refereed journals, international and local professional publications such as Journal of Real Estate Literature (USA), Journal of Property Investment & Finance (UK), Pacific Rim Property Research Journal (Australia), Journal of Valuation and Property Services, Australian Property Journal and The Malaysian Surveyor.
