APC final assessment and case study are your final steps towards becoming RICS member. It is important that candidate knows how to demonstrate your range of skills and competencies in an important project through the case study, and is a key component of your APC submission. The final assessment is the culmination of your hard work gaining experience and achieving competencies for global recognition and status.

This is a one-day training programme designed to help APC candidates prepare and excel in this critical assessment. You will be guided by an experienced assessor on the following:

  • Define APC final assessment process.
  • Recognise and distinguish the role of case study in the overall assessment.
  • Choosing a suitable case study.
  • Writing and presenting your case study the RICS way.
  • Structuring the report for submission.
  • Recognise the importance of RICS ethics and rules of conduct.
  • Demonstrate the achievement of your required competencies at the right level.

  • All current APC candidates.
  • Individuals who have been deferred and wish to improve on their final assessment and case study writing.

Meet the trainer:

Bill Jones, BSc MA, FRICS, MSISV

Bill is a Fellow of RICS and has been working in the property industry full time for over 30 years. He holds a BSc in Urban Estate Management from LJMU (Liverpool John Moores University) and an MA in Management from the LJMU Business School.

Bill is also a member of the Singapore Institute of Surveyors & Valuers (SISV). He became a Chartered Surveyor (MRICS) in 1986 while working for Sutcliffe & Co. in the UK as a Valuer, Commercial Agent and Property Manager. After a variety of management roles in the public and private sector, Bill joined Royal Dutch Shell in late 2001 and held a variety of positions in FM, corporate real estate and asset management. With Shell, he was based in Singapore and worked on various real estate projects across the Asia Pacific region.

In 2011, Bill joined CBRE as Process Improvement Lead on the Shell EMEA account. Having been a member of RICS Asia Board and RICS Audit Committee, Bill joined RICS full-time four years ago, as ASEAN Director and International Standards Director for the Asia Pacific region. Bill recently moved on from RICS and is now in a global real estate role with a multi-national organisation.
