Overview

Over the past year, there has been significant press coverage about gender equality and its impact in different industries globally. Within the property and construction industry in Hong Kong, there has been some improvement over the past decade, but where do we stand now regarding how men and women are rewarded for their performance?

We have invited International Director, Hong Kong, Macdonald and Company, Will Glover to present the results of the twelfth annual RICS and Macdonald & Company Asia Salary & Benefits Survey. This survey highlights trends and provides a market overview of salaries and packages within the industry for our region, but, more importantly, also some of the wider issues that are important to real estate professionals, such as attitudes towards employment.

Following Will's presentation, Christine Tsang of the National Australia Bank will moderate a discussion with an esteemed panel of professionals, including the newly appointed RICS Hong Kong Board Chair, Dave Hallam MRICS. They will discuss their personal experiences around gender equality, their thoughts on how the industry is addressing issues which have been deemed taboo for many years, and how companies are addressing the gender pay gap.

Meet the panellists:

  • Moderator: Christine Tsang, Head of Operational Risk, Asia, National Australian Bank
  • William Glover, International Director, Macdonald and Company
