Meet the industry leaders who will be judging nominations at the RICS Awards 2020 Hong Kong.
Each of our judges brings substantial experience from their industry sector, having worked with industry-leading firms and on leading projects, both in Hong Kong and internationally, throughout their careers. They also bring their attention to detail and a keen eye for projects that utilise the latest technology, stand out from the crowd, and inspire local communities.
Mr Gerard Kipling FRICS, Managing Director, Oak Tree Property Services Limited
From 1978–1998, Mr Kipling held various roles at Jones Lang Wootton both in London and Hong Kong before becoming chief executive of JLL Asia in 1999. He has remained in Hong Kong ever since, working as a managing director at PropertyOne Limited, an executive director at CBRE Hong Kong, and managing director of Oak Tree Property Services Limited, where he has worked since January 2019.
Mr Chiu Kam Kuen FRICS, International Director, Chief Executive, Greater China, Cushman & Wakefield
KK is Chief Executive of Greater China at Cushman & Wakefield with over 30 years’ experience in the real estate industry. Appointed by the Government of Hong Kong SAR, KK is a member of Surveyors Registration Board under the Surveyors Registration Ordinance, a member of Appeal Tribunal Panel appointed under Building Ordinance (Cap 123), and panel member of the Private Columbaria Appeal Board under the Private Columbaria Ordinance.
Mr Donald Choi, Registered Architect, Authorised Person, PRC Class 1 Registered Architect Qualification Chief Executive Officer, Chinachem Group
Mr Donald Choi has worked internationally as an architect and developer for over three decades and possesses in-depth knowledge of the real estate development and investment industries. He is familiar with both public and private projects. Clients have included Hong Kong Government, Airport Authority, MTR Corporation, Urban Renewal Authority, Public Works Canada, British Columbia Buildings Corporation, and other NGOs.
Mr Alan Dalgleish FRICS, Chief Executive, Asian Association for Investors in non-listed real estate vehicles
Mr Dalgleish is responsible for leading ANREV's Executive Office team and for working with ANREV's Board to implement the Association's strategic growth plans in Asia Pacific. Alan has an extensive real estate background, principally in research, consulting and capital markets, having spent over 30 years working in real estate markets across Asia.
Ms Peionie Kong, Director (Asset Management-Hong Kong), Link Real Estate Investment Trust
Ms Kong oversees the asset management and leasing of Link's Hong Kong asset portfolio. Ms Kong joined the Manager in March 2005 and is a director of two subsidiaries of Link. She has 26 years of experience in the real estate industry, with extensive experience in retail and commercial leasing, as well as implementation of large-scale renovation projects and trade-mix repositioning exercises. Prior to joining the Manager, she held managerial positions in renowned property developers.
Ms Ling Lam FRICS, FHKIS, RPS(QS), MCIArb, Managing Director, Rider Levett Bucknall Limited
Ms Lam presently serves as Vice Chair of the Association of Consulting Quantity Surveyors and plays a key role in industry matters and communication with the government. Ms Lam has a broad range of industry experience with strong expertise in delivering complex commercial and institutional projects for public and private clients. She has successfully delivered many high-profile projects for local and international clients.
Mr David Tang MRICS, Property Director, MTR Corporation Limited
Mr Tang was appointed Deputy Property Director in July 2011 and has been the Property Director and a member of the Executive Directorate since October 2011. He is responsible for all of the property development projects of the Company in Hong Kong from layout planning and scheme design through to project construction completion. He is also a director and an alternate director of Octopus Holdings Limited.
Mr Y. C. Wong, Robert MRICS, Chief Executive, Hongkong Land Holdings Limited
Mr Wong joined Hongkong Land's Board as Chief Executive in 2016. He first joined Hongkong Land in 1985 and has extensive experience in property management and development.
As a director of Hongkong Land since 1996, he has had responsibility for the Group's residential property business for over a decade.
Ir Wai Chi Sing, GBS, JP, FHKEng, Managing Director, Urban Renewal Authority
Ir Wai Chi Sing is an expert in civil and structural engineering. He holds a master's degree in transportation engineering from Purdue University in the United States, with professional qualifications in civil, structural and geotechnical engineering.
Sir Gordon Ying Sheung WU GBS, KCMG, FICE, HonFHKIE, FHKIE, FCILT, Chairman of the Board, Hopewell Holdings Limited
Sir Wu was the Chairman and an executive director (from July 2003 to April 2018) and a non-executive director (from April 2018 to May 2018) of Hopewell Highway Infrastructure Limited, a company listed on The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited, and has been disposed by the company in April 2018. He was also the winner of the RICS Awards 2019 Hong Kong Lifetime Achiever Award.
Mr Yu Tak Cheung MRICS, JP, Director of Buildings, Buildings Department
Mr Yu has been working in the government for over 30 years, mainly in the administration of the Buildings Ordinance on the control of new private building developments and existing private buildings.
