Through regular reporting we keep our stakeholders updated on the organisation's performance. Our mission is to be recognised in key worldwide markets as the leading body that sets and enforces standards and offers access to the most sought after professional status in land, property and construction.

Annual Review

Our Annual Review for the 2017-18 business year provides an overall picture of the performance of our professional body from standards development and thought leadership, to our work to gain adoption of our standards and how they are being enforced.

The year was particularly notable for RICS as we celebrated 150 years since our founding in 1868. In that time, we have grown from a small group of dedicated professionals who sought to bring order to the explosive growth from the Industrial Revolution, to a truly global body of 130,000 members working in over 140 countries helping the world build its future amidst the digital revolution.

While we have been celebrating our past achievements, we have been busy laying the foundations for the future. We have begun a series of reforms to our governance structure, and we have undertaken a wide-ranging strategy review which is looking at how we recruit, qualify, and support the next generation of professionals. This is about ensuring we remain fit for purpose so we can continue to support RICS professionals to embrace the opportunities in front of them, and better serve the clients and communities who rely on their expertise.

Remuneration Report

At RICS, we act with integrity and champion the profession. This underpins how we will achieve our vision: to be recognised in key international markets as the leading body that develops and enforces professional standards, and offers access to the most sought-after professional status.

As such, we share information about compensation and reward in an honest and transparent manner. It’s important that our profession has an insight into how we operate, including how we reward and recognise our people for contributing to our successes.

Geraldine Kelly is the Chair of the Remuneration Committee, which is responsible for setting our overall policy on pay and reward.

RICS-qualified professionals and independent professionals sit on this committee and the policy is reviewed each year, using specialist insight on salary levels in the countries we operate in and taking into account how we are performing overall.

RICS Business Plan

The RICS Business Plan is a detailed strategy for the next three years, providing direction on our vision: “Through our credential and our professional standards we will create confidence in markets and be known for effecting positive change in the built and natural environments.”
