RICS forums are responsible for producing technical guidance and information, as well as arranging conferences, summer schools and other events. They push the further development of knowledge within specialist areas of practice. Our forums are open to RICS members and non-members.
RICS staff work in partnership with the forum steering groups in delivering the various business plans in the light of the resources available. They shape the strategic direction of the forums by way of a rolling, three-year business plan, and also oversee the accreditation scheme.
The RICS Building Conservation Forum provides a network for professionals with an interest in the building conservation sector. The aim of the forum is to develop standards, best practice guidance and technical information, as well as to organise seminars and events for professionals working in this area, and to promote public interest in building conservation in accordance with our Royal Charter.

The term 'dilapidations' is normally used to cover defects or disrepair that a tenant has to deal with or pay to have remedied when they vacate the premises they have leased.
The RICS Dilapidations Forum provides a centre of dilapidations expertise for members and other stakeholders to draw on. Its membership is largely split between surveyors and lawyers, with a handful of engineers and other RICS members.
