RICS works in partnership with universities to ensure that our accredited degree courses are relevant to industry.
Your options for becoming RICS qualified
RICS offers two qualifications: Chartered (MRICS) and Associate (AssocRICS).
To gain either qualification you must present your experience against RICS’ pathways and competencies, which define the knowledge and skill requirements that will be assessed.
You are eligible to enrol for the following assessments (listed in order of most relevance).
If you have less than 5 years’ relevant experience you must complete 24 months of structured training before your final assessment interview.
If you have 5-10 years’ relevant experience you must complete 12 months of structured training before your final assessment interview.
If you have 10 or more years’ relevant experience you can progress to final assessment interview as soon as you are ready.

If you have 5 years’ relevant experience and a higher degree or over 10 years’ experience you may be eligible for the senior professional or specialist assessment. To be eligible you must also meet the senior profile or specialist profile.

You are eligible to enrol for the Associate assessment. You must have 12 months’ relevant experience before you submit for written assessment.
