The RICS Code of measuring practice no longer applies to office or residential measurements. Instead, members measuring these types of properties should follow the RICS property measurement, 2nd edition, professional statement, which advises on how to measure in line with International Property Measurement Standards.
This course will familiarize you with the key elements of the professional statement, the mandatory requirements, and address the context for the adoption of the international standards. You can also purchase the additional modules which cover the use of IPMS: Office Buildings and IPMS: Residential Buildings as applied in the professional statement.
The Code of measuring practice, now globally applicable, continues to provide guidance and is still considered as best practice for measuring all other property types. As such, RICS strongly advises members to continue using the Code.
RICS members undertaking office or residential measurements must be able to demonstrate compliance if called upon by RICS Regulation as Part 1 of the professional statement is mandatory.
You need to complete two parts of this elearning course and the final exam to receive your certificate of completion and claim your CPD:
Part 1: Changes to Measurement Practice
Part 2: IPMS Office Buildings
Part 2: IPMS Residential Buildings
