Physee has emerged as the winner of the 2018 Proptech Innovation Awards, initiated by Union Investment and the German Tech Entrepreneurship Center (GTEC), with the support of RICS.
The runners-up were UK-based HIP Interactive Property and Spaceti from the Czech Republic.
RICS is supporting from the beginning this initiative with a clear objective: to encourage innovation in the real estate sector with inspiring cutting-edge examples.
The competition draws in the most ground-breaking proptech solutions from around the globe. The three finalists were selected from over 130 applications from 28 markets and pitched their ideas before a nine-member international jury, including Maarten Vermeulen FRICS, RICS Regional Managing Director for Europe, and Jörn Stobbe FRICS, COO of Union Investment.
Dutch company Physee, won first prize for the world's first fully transparent electricity and data generating windows that increase the energy efficiency and user experience of buildings.
HiP Interactive Property was honored for its cutting-edge platform that re-thinks the way real estate assets are bought, sold, collateralised and interacted with.
Ranking in third place Spaceti, headquartered in Prague, convinced the jury with its technology for digitising buildings based on the principles of indoor location.
The PropTech Innovation Award 2018 carries a total monetary prize of €40,000. In addition to winning the top prize, Physee has received a wildcard for one of the three preliminary rounds of tile MIPIM Start-up competition, to be held in Paris, New York and Singapore.
To continue showcasing the benefits of the fruitful collaboration between the creative tech industry and the real estate sector, RICS will join MIPIM Proptech Europe to be held in Paris, from 20-21 June 2018, as sponsor of the event. In this event, real estate professionals, leading tech companies and investors from all over the world meet to unlock the potential of digitisation.
