Overview

Through interactive and informative sessions, the conference will focus on local, regional and global factors impacting the industry. Call it a boom or call it a bubble, it is no secret that the local real estate market has been on a steady incline and many want to know if it can be sustained.

The keynote address will be delivered by RICS Past President John Hughes FRICS who will focus on factors impacting the global real estate and construction market with particular emphasis on Brexit in the United Kingdom, the mid-term elections and the increase in interest rates in the United States and in Canada, immigration, the interest rate and changing demographics.

Following the keynote session, the Honorable Minister for Commerce, Planning and Infrastructure, Cayman Islands Government, Mr. Joey Hew, along with his team, will present an in-depth look at the George Town Revitalization Project.

In the Market Outlook session, leading industry figures involved in the real estate market in the Cayman Islands will examine past and present trends and discuss the future of the industry.

There will be breakout sessions after lunch covering valuations, construction, property management and insurance.
