Reintroducing the RICS Valuer Registration fee in Australia

In April 2017, RICS Valuer Registration (VR) became a mandatory requirement for RICS professionals in Australia. This meant that all RICS valuers who provide valuation services in Australia were required to sign-up and pay an additional regulatory fee.

As an introductory offer, the annual fee was waived throughout 2017 and 2018. At the next annual renewal on 1 January 2019, VR fees will be re-introduced in Australia.

There are two ways to pay and discounts available if you are being sponsored by a regulated firm.

1. Valuers who are not sponsored by a RICS Regulated Firm

When you have answered your annual questions, you will be directed to a secure online portal to make your payment and complete your annual return submission.

2. Valuers who are sponsored by a RICS Regulated Firm

When you have answered your annual return questions, your submission is complete, and the firm will receive a separate invoice that covers the fee for all RICS Registered Valuers that it has sponsored.

Only firms that are Regulated by RICS can sponsor their valuers and avail themselves of discounted VR fees. The more valuers a firm sponsors the greater the discount.
