Course Summary

Regulators have called into question whether practitioners who conduct fair value measurement estimates have the requisite training, qualifications, experience and expertise to perform these valuations in a manner consistent with valuation standards and best practices.

The Certified in Entity and Intangible Valuations (CEIV) credential demonstrates credential holders’ competency and commitment to enhancing audit quality and consistency and transparency in fair value measurements. Encompassed within the CEIV credential program are mandatory performance requirements as well as ongoing engagement-level, risk-based quality review. Practitioners will be required to meet rigorous qualifications and ongoing education and credential maintenance requirements.

Discuss the reliability of management’s assumptions and how to test those assumptions, as well as auditing accounting estimates and fair value measurements. This section concludes with a robust case study designed to illustrate key points addressed throughout the Body of Knowledge training.
