Earlier this year we launched Pledge150, an anti-homelessness campaign, in partnership with property industry charity, LandAid.
The campaign is raising funds to deliver at least 150 bed spaces across the UK by the end of 2018 for young people at risk of homelessness. This month, we’re delighted to announce the life-changing housing projects across the country that will benefit from the Pledge150 funds that our property industry professionals are working hard to raise.
The Pledge150 campaign is already making a difference and has so far funded four projects: YMCA Norfolk, Nottinghamshire YMCA, Somerset Care and Repair and YMCA Thames Gateway, all of which will provide safe, secure and affordable housing for young people who have experienced homelessness.
The RICS Pledge150 campaign is open to all those that work in the property sectors, and to date property professionals – including architects, developers, contractors, estate agents as well as chartered surveyors – have raised funds for Pledge150 through a wide programme of fundraising activities. These include charitable sporting challenges, city treasure hunts as well as networking socials, tours of iconic buildings and corporate dinners. Those working in the built environment may also be given the opportunity to provide pro bono property advice to the local charities supporting the Pledge150 projects.
