We are making a number of changes to the rules of our Designated Professional Body (DPB) scheme. The scheme enables us to regulate our firms for general insurance distribution activities, on behalf of the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).
A recent court case highlights the importance of order of cost estimates to set reasonable budgets and elemental cost planning in ensuring that a design develops within budget.
The Tender Price Indices for 2017 have been revised. The latest recalculation shows that prices rose strongly throughout the year.

The BCIS five-year forecast for the facilities management sector sees maintenance cost inflation rising by 2.3% to Q3 2018 and by a further 2.6% to Q1 2019. It is then forecast to rise by between 2.9% and 3.8% over the next three years.
Private housebuilders' costs increased by 4.6% in the year to Q3 2017 in response to demand pressures on resources. They have been rising steadily since the beginning of 2014.
