Our data is used by consultants and contractors to produce specific estimates for option appraisals, early cost advice, cost planning and benchmarking

With technology a key focus in the built environment for many customers, BCIS is undergoing a significant programme of development to ensure it is positioned to meet the challenges of a digitally connected future.
The benefits of this project will be seen early in 2020 when customers will gain first sight of the redesigned user interface, which BCIS expects to make its products and services easier and more intuitive to use.
The underlying workings of BCIS are also being redeveloped to provide a wider range of data and give the ability to pass data to and from other software solutions. As part of this BCIS is looking to provide a full data hosting facility where users can store project data, including BIM models, underpinned by RICS standards, and benchmark performance against other projects on a global basis.
BCIS will also support full building parameterised models where capital, life cycle costs and carbon will scale automatically as users alter a 3D design on screen.
BCIS is expecting to deliver this functionality through a combination of its own development and third-party sourced software solutions. BCIS is embarking on discussions with a number of potential suppliers as the exact nature of its future systems is specified.
Potential technology partners who feel they could contribute to this project are encouraged to contact Richard Groom, Head of Core Data Products at RICS for further information.
