Simona Collarini, architect and planner, PhD in Spatial and Urban Planning, with 30 years' experience in the planning field, is the Director of the General Urban Planning Department and Vice Director of the Urban Development Directorate of Milan City Council.
As Director of the General Urban Planning Department, she deals with strategic planning, urban studies, general urban planning, innovative programs of urban and environmental regeneration like "Reinventing Cities" as well as C40 network and EU- financed projects. Between 1988 and the beginning of 1995, she worked in the field of territorial research of Politecnico of Milan and she collaborated with a public company in the environmental planning area.
She represents Milan City Council in the national steering committee of the Istituto Nazionale di Urbanistica, she has made some publications and takes part in various conferences as speaker.
