We would like to take the opportunity to provide you with an update on our activities.

As most of you have noticed and as a result of the pandemic, most of our activities moved to online platforms and while the digital life certainly has its benefits, we were not entirely happy with the level of activities and engagement, and thus, with our overall visibility.

The pandemic had a huge impact on how we communicated and engaged not only with our members but also with other key participants of the markets we have presence in and these changes resulted in RICS rethinking the model of how we operate. You will probably have heard that RICS decided to close down a number of offices globally and a wide-spread reorganisation also took place to ensure our operation remains efficient and effective. One of the final stages of this process is the ongoing so-called Bichard review, which is an independent review into the Institution’s Purpose, Governance and Strategy. As part of the review process, members and staff members of RICS had the opportunity to communicate their opinions to Lord Bichard who is going to summarise his findings of the review in the next few weeks.

A special thank you to Noah Steinberg FRICS

At the same time, the second term of our chairman, Noah Steinberg FRICS, has ended and we would like to take the opportunity to thank him for his services and for the valuable contribution Noah has made to RICS during his period of appointment. It has been a real pleasure working with Noah in this capacity and his expertise and insights have been an essential contribution to our strategic discussions.

Going forward, as we navigate through the review process, we will not be launching a formal process to select a new chairman, but will continue working with the remaining members of the Advisory Board on an interim basis. You will hear more from us soon regarding our priorities for the coming period.

Finally, we would like to remind you to make good use of your free CPD package online, which is available to all members who have renewed their membership for 2022. We would love to see all of you on our WhatsApp Discussion Group and if you have difficulties joining it, do let us know.
