HMS CAMBRIA provides the perfect backdrop for the RICS Wales December CPD and Festive Buffet as we will be looking at how military service personnel can transition into the Surveying Profession.
This part of the discussion will be led by Lieutenant Commander Richard Davies VR.
Richard is a Chartered Surveyor and senior property leader with over 30 years’ UK and international experience in real estate investment management. His career spans portfolio strategy, development, acquisitions and operations across all sectors of real estate. In addition to his UK based roles, Richard has lived and worked in the United States and Turkey, delivering significant property projects and acquisitions for both institutional and private investors.
Richard is also a Commissioned Officer in the Royal Navy and has served as an Armed Forces Reservist for over 30 years, including two periods of mobilisation, most notably in the Middle East in 2012. He brings both operational discipline and strategic perspective to both corporate and defence contexts.
A committed advocate for service personnel, Richard has supported two companies in signing the Armed Forces Covenant and led M&G Plc to achieve Gold status in the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme in 2023.
Richard will be joined by Simon Hewitt, also a Navy Veteran and owner of The Veteran Building Company Ltd, operating across South Wales and the West of England. Simon is a dedicated supporter of veterans and keen to promote the excellent values they can carry over to any UK based organisation looking to grow their workforce.
The event will also include an update from former Wales Board Members Gareth Davies and Ryan Harries on Welsh Water’s Capital Programme.
We will also have an update on Changes to the Business Rates system from Wales Board Member Helen Edwards (Director, WSP GL Hearn) and Jane Shankland (Director, Cooke & Arkwright)
