Mental Health at work is of growing importance in the Surveying profession. After a successful and conversation provoking panel session at the 2025 Wales Conference, the Wales Board has committed to continue the conversation and keep Mental Health at the top of the agenda.
As part of this, free to attend sessions ran in October in Cardiff and Conwy. Members were joined by presenters and coaches from a diverse range of support organisations in the industry, who came together to discuss mental wellbeing and work/life balance amongst other things. Attendees left with important practical tops and tools to support them on a day-to-day basis.
“We were delighted to host the mental health session in Cardiff and from listening to our members at the Conference in the spring we felt it was much needed. It was a pleasure to have my own personal business coach, Helen Corsi-Cadmore, deliver a thought-provoking session on all things about work/ life balance and the importance of accountability, I think we all took a lot from it and will no doubt be making some big changes. Likewise, Chris Flynn from Team Health Performance provided an incredibly insightful session on rebooting and made us all have a good think about the way we breathe, move, and just generally look after ourselves. Who knew we waste so much energy just by breathing out of our mouths rather than our noses!”

“Mental health is a topic very close to our hearts in North Wales, and we were proud to build on the momentum from June’s RICS Wales Conference with a dedicated event at Conwy Business Centre. We were pleased to welcome a diverse group of members and were inspired by Laura Edwardson, a SHOUT volunteer, who spoke candidly about mental wellbeing. Chris Flynn from Team Health Performance brought energy and humour with a practical, hands-on “reboot” session. The event sparked meaningful conversations amongst members, offered real tools for wellbeing, and reinforced the importance of looking after ourselves—and each other.”

We would like to thank everyone who attended and contributed, and specifically Team Health Performance, SHOUT, and Helan Corsi-Cadmore for giving up their time and bringing such positive ideas and energy to the events.
