RICS Response to change to the Electronic Communications Code

We responded to the Department of Culture, Media and Sport consultation on Changes to the Electronic Communications Code which aims to help ensure that the UK has sufficiently robust electronic communications networks to deliver the coverage and connectivity consumers and businesses need.

We raised particular attention to the issues of ADR and its appropriate use within the telecoms sector as surveyors represent both operators (of fixed line and mobile) and site providers of wireless infrastructure.

Our profession is critical in resolving disputes and avoiding the cost and risks of litigation and is supporting DCMS and the wider telecoms industry to help development of an appropriate ADR solution.
