This inspiring afternoon, hosted by BE Inclusive, a collaboration of professional bodies including RICS, CIOB, LI, CICES, RTPI, RIBA, CIHT, ICE and CIAT brings together leading voices from across the built environment to celebrate women in leadership and drive meaningful change towards gender equity.
Beginning with networking and refreshments, the programme opens with a welcome from Her Estate Founder Elizabeth Adigun, followed by a thought-provoking film exploring the importance of women representation and the power of celebrating women’s leadership journeys.
The event features a guest lecture from Ruth Lin Wong Holmes, Vice President of the Landscape Institute, reflecting on the legacy of Brenda Colvin’s historic presidency and the ongoing influence of women in shaping inclusive design and policy. A dynamic panel discussion, hosted by Amaya Sophia Ahmed Co-Founder of Her Estate, will create space for honest dialogue and audience engagement with industry leaders.
Following a short break, keynote speaker Faye Allen FRICS Chartered Quantity Surveyor and author of Building Women – How everyone in construction can win — will share research-led insights and challenge the sector to address systemic barriers within industry. The afternoon concludes with a collaborative pledges session, inviting attendees to commit to tangible actions that advance gender equity, before closing remarks from Elizabeth Adigun.
Designed to inform, inspire, and activate, this event highlights the collective responsibility of industry professionals to champion inclusive leadership and build a more equitable future within the built environment.

Ruth is the Vice President of the Landscape Institute (LI). This lecture will mark the 75th anniversary of Brenda Colvin becoming the first female President of the Institute of Landscape Architects (now the LI) and explore the vital role of women’s voices in design and policymaking, particularly in shaping safer, more inclusive public spaces for women and girls.
The session will feature a Q&A panel with women leaders from across the industry.
Faye is a highly experienced Chartered Quantity Surveyor with three decades of experience in the construction industry. She is also author of the book 'Building Women - How everyone in construction can win' (2025). In the keynote, Faye will discuss the research underpinning her book and make a call for change to tackle systemic issues affecting women and men in construction and built environment.
A session focused on practical actions from industry leaders on advancing gender equity within the sector, concluding with pledges highlighting achievable changes that individuals can commit to in support of gender equity.
