Commercial properties are generally larger and built on more expensive land than houses, the sums of money involved are much greater and the responsibilities of the valuer are therefore more onerous than for valuation of a residential property.

This course will cover:

  • RICS Guidance Notes and Practice Statements: Which ones are valuation specific — highest and best use.
  • Comparable evidence: The Hierarchy of Evidence Value as you devalue, Net Effective Rents case study.
  • Competence and working in various jurisdictions.
  • The full process of valuation, start to finish, showing flow chart.
  • Problems/remedies: The Valuers Horror Story.
  • Negligence: Case law.
  • Mandatory competencies, valuation, commercial property, property finance and funding.
