Meet our new Netherlands Chair and member of the Europe World Regional Board

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Klaas Bosma MRICS as Chair of the Netherlands Regional Advisory Board (RAB) and, in a dual role, as a Member of the Europe World Regional Board (EWRB), where he represents the BeNeLux.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Joël Scherrenberg MRICS, who previously held both positions, for his commitment, leadership and valuable contribution to RICS and its members. Through his service, Joël has played an important role in supporting member engagement and representing the profession across the region.

The appointment process was led by Stefan De Goeij MRICS, Chair of the Europe World Regional Board & Member of the Global Members Committee, alongside Remy Van Horssen MRICS, Local Member, and Sarah New, Independent Recruitment Panellist. We are grateful to the panel for their time, expertise and commitment throughout the appointment process.

Together with the entire Advisory Board, Klaas will focus on further establishing RICS in The Netherlands towards governments and stakeholders, promoting the services of our members and advancing the public interest in the built environment.

For the remainder of 2026, this includes the RICS Netherlands Annual Conference on biodiversity and AI, as well as the return of the RICS Netherlands Gala Dinner after five years of absence. 

In addition, he will focus on the digital transformation of the real estate profession and the rapidly growing role of AI, exploring how these developments can strengthen and shape the profession for the future.

We congratulate Klaas on his appointment and look forward to working with him as he takes up these important roles.
