This Code of Practice endorsed by RICS is intended to provide best practice guidance to encourage behaviours that seek to balance the rights and interests of those who install and operate electricity infrastructure (Licence Holders) with those whose land and property is impacted by such equipment (Landowners). It is aimed at Representatives and Licence Holders. RICS members should consider the behaviours and principles of the Code as best practice.
All engaged with the production of this Code are committed to supporting the government in achieving its legally binding target of net zero emissions by 2050, as well as to supporting the government’s ongoing energy security objective of generating cheaper, cleaner power in Great Britain and all acknowledge the government’s estimation of the vast scale of the electricity network build which will be required to meet projected future peak electricity demand, as set out in the Electricity Networks Strategic Framework.
