Overview

Come and hear the remarkable stories of the women who helped shape the surveying profession.

Join us for a fascinating talk with Carrie de Silva, Visiting Professor of Real Estate Practice Law at Harper Adams University and Honorary Professor at the Royal Agricultural University.

Through her research and contributions to the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography, Carrie has uncovered a wealth of stories about notable female figures throughout the history of surveying. This is a unique opportunity to hear some of those stories and gain a fresh perspective on the impact women have had on the profession.

Carrie has taught on RICS-accredited courses for more than 25 years and has developed and delivered materials for Sava valuation courses. A regular contributor to the history of surveying education for RICS, she continues to teach postgraduate courses and deliver CPD in law and taxation.

Outside of academia, Carrie researches women commemorated in UK street names and is currently writing a series of short booklets on notable women from Rugby, Warwickshire and some of the first female university professors in the UK.
