Sessions

  • RICS Future of the Profession and Project Neo. BCIS has been running for over 55 years and is the leading independent provider of cost and price information to the construction industry.  This session will demonstrate the value that BCIS can bring as well as exploring the drivers behind a recent project to redevelop the platform and the benefits this is bringing to current users and the wider industry.
  • 360-degree view of a project. Join our expert speaker, Jeff Belk, Head of Estate Projects, University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust as he explores the digital evolution and life of a building component or asset from initial briefing through to removal or demolition.
  • Using 5D BIM to enhance project collaboration. What are the fundamentals of 5D BIM?  This session will seek to provide clarity to this question, as well as looking at the progress of implementation and how 5D BIM can really help enhance project collaboration, bringing benefits to project leaders and key stakeholders within the project team.
  • Automation: Job transformation or job replacement? New technologies have paved the way for greater use of robotics within the construction industry and the benefits appear to be wide reaching.  This session will explore how robots are already being used to automate construction practices and reduce material consumption on site, as well as looking at the use of 3D printing tools.
  • Blockchain masterclass. Attend a series of short and engaging presentations on how blockchain has the potential to transform every aspect of the built and natural environment sector. Hear insights into revolutionary new practices in supply chain management, real estate transactions and materials use.
  • Digital Twins – optimising performance of your real estate asset. This session will provide expert insight into how digital twins are being utilised in practice to enhance the relationship between owner and tenant within the commercial real estate sector.
  • Panel debate: How to get stakeholders engaged with technology. Instilling any sort of culture change in an organisation can be challenging and perhaps never more so when it comes to implementation of new technologies.  How can we, as an industry, ensure that we embrace the benefits that new technologies can bring and enable implementation at the scale and pace required for them to be realised?
