Our dedicated team of engagement staff – based across all 12 regions – are planning a programme of engagement activities, designed to help RICS professionals get the most out of their membership, with access to exclusive events and opportunities to get more involved with RICS.
As part of the programme, dedicated Engagement Events will be held across all UK regions in the new year. These will give members the opportunity to find out more about local networking activities, CPD coming up in their area and how our latest initiatives can benefit their work and sectors. Updates on our latest policy influencing activities, future talent work and new professional standards/guidance will also be provided during these events, along with the opportunity to meet and speak directly to key regional RICS staff.
Other engagement initiatives planned for 2020 include RICS’ 12 Regional Boards opening up some of their quarterly meetings to the membership to encourage input and ideas around the Board’s objectives to attract future talent and gain and use market insight to help benefit local markets.
There will also be a ‘Members Career Guide – Recruitment to Retirement’ will published next year to signpost our range of support and services available for RICS members at all stages of their career. A Recognition Programme will launch next year, too, to recognise RICS professionals who have given back to the profession, whether that be through, for example, extensive work to inspire the future generation or a long service in helping provide APC support to surveyors.
Our engagement team will also be hitting the phones to personally introduce themselves and explain more about our engagement activities in their local area, and the option to receive our monthly ‘Plan Ahead’ email which provides details of upcoming local CPD sessions and social events. If you would like to receive an engagement call from our team, email email@example.com
RICS professionals can also expect to benefit from a new Engagement Hub on our website in 2020, which will provide further details on our full-programme of engagement activities. This includes our Apprenticeships programme and our Inspire Ambassadors programme, which aims to encourage young talent from all backgrounds in to the profession. There will also be dedicated information on the Hub about how to get involved with local groups such as RICS Matrics, which supports new and young members entering the profession.
Victoria Hampson, RICS Head of UK Professional Engagement, said: “The value of RICS membership has never been greater – from wider industry recognition, greater career opportunities and enhanced salary levels to access to the latest exclusive professional insights, events, guidance and technologies.
“Our engagement programme will help highlight these benefits to members, and also give them the opportunity to tell us what more they would like to see from RICS to help boost engagement levels from members across all regions. As part of this, RICS professionals will be invited to contribute to a member survey in January.”
