How many years have you worked in the built environment or dispute resolution?

24 years in the Construction Industry covering all commercial management, dispute avoidance, and dispute resolution of Built Environment and Major Infrastructure Capital Investment Programmes, Mega and Giga Projects in Kuwait, KSA and UK.  Network Rail / Scottish Water / South East Water / M&W UK High Tech Projects (Waste to Energy) / Sabah Al Ahmed Sea City Kuwait / Neom / Saudi Entertainment Ventures (SEVENS) / Qiddiya Investment Company / Diriyah Gate Development Authority / Diriyah Company / PMBS Stadium - KSA Giga Projects.

What made you decide to pursue the training?

I have a natural interest in dispute resolution and really enjoy this specialist subject matter. I have had previous exposure and experience with Adjudication in the UK and the course provided me the opportunity to expand my knowledge and experience in Arbitration.

What did you find most valuable or distinctive about the training?

The training was spread over a reasonable time and effectively delivered remotely via webinars. This allowed me to combine full time employment and study. The training was taught by experts in the field who were subject matter experts in the modules.

What have you applied from the course in your work since completing it?

A full in-depth knowledge, understanding and practice of the mechanics of Arbitration and its effectiveness in the resolution of disputes. Greater attention to detail to arbitration clauses in contracts and the drafting of such clauses and what this means in practical terms for the contract.

Has the course changed the kind of work you're doing now or will do in the future?

Completion of the course has encouraged me to enrol on my RICS Expert Witness Certificate course which should lead into more dispute resolution / expert witness / claims commissions.  In the future, I intend to become a Chartered Arbitrator (C.Arb) and completion of the course is an essential steppingstone in the process.

What has been the biggest professional benefit for you since completing the training?

I have been equipped with the essential practical skills, knowledge and latest developments in arbitration enhancing my professional credentials and future career aspirations in arbitration
