RICS Dispute Resolution Service is pleased to be supporting London International Disputes Week (LIDW26) again this year.
This year’s conference theme is ‘Tradition, trust and transformation in international dispute resolution’, with the international disputes community coming together to discuss how to the meet the challenges resulting from geopolitical upheaval, new technologies and constantly evolving legal landscapes.
LIDW26 will serve as a unique forum for legal practitioners, academics, and experts to engage in meaningful discussions, share insights, and foster collaboration on critical global challenges and opportunities facing the legal community today.
RICS has partnered with HKA, the Bar Council, and 39 Essex Street to deliver a 2-part panel discussion - “ADR tipping point: Balancing tradition and professionalism alongside transformation and progress”.
This will be an in‑depth exploration of the evolving landscape of international dispute resolution, featuring two expert panel discussions.
Panel 1 - Professionalism and international standards in dispute resolution
This session will examine how professionalism and international standards continue to underpin trust and credibility in dispute resolution across jurisdictions. Panellists will discuss best practice, conflicts of interest, and the ethical responsibilities that shape the conduct of practitioners worldwide. The conversation will address the growing influence of emerging technologies - particularly AI - and consider the digital tools can digital tools can be integrated responsibly while safeguarding integrity, independence, accountability, and professional standards.
Panel 2 - The rapidly changing forms of international dispute resolution
As methods of dispute resolution around the world are rapidly developing, becoming more flexible and fluid, and users of dispute resolution services are becoming more sophisticated and discerning, this panel will explore the latest trends in this field. Speakers will consider what these changes mean for practitioners and organisations, and how stakeholders can adapt to remain effective and resilient in a rapidly evolving environment.
