RICS Celebrates Accreditation Milestone with Ankara University and Strengthens Ties with YÖKAK

Anna Galiano, Education and Accreditation Manager, met with Prof. Dr. Ramazan Bayindir, Vice-President of YÖKAK (Higher Education Quality Council of Türkiye), the Department of Real Estate Development and Management at Ankara University and RICS members, candidates, and students to advance our education standards in Türkiye.

YÖKAK is the national authority responsible for quality assurance in higher education, playing a central role in enhancing academic standards, promoting continuous improvement, and strengthening the international recognition of Turkish universities. RICS was granted recognition from YÖKAK in 2025 for a period of five years, which means we are recognised as a credible and trusted international accreditation body. The Education and Accreditation team will be strengthening our collaboration with YÖKAK through a series of activities later this year and into 2027.

A highlight of our work in Türkiye has been the official presentation of accreditation certificates for five programmes delivered by the Real Estate Development and Management at Ankara University. We had the pleasure to celebrate with the honourable Prof. Dr. Necdet Ünüvar, Dean of Ankara University.

A ceremony was organised by Prof. Dr. Harun Tanrıvermiş MRICS in recognition of the continued excellence of its real estate programmes and its achievement as the university with the highest number of RICS-accredited programmes in continental Europe. This milestone reflects a long-standing collaboration between RICS and the university, dating back to 2007, and highlights the Institution’s strong commitment to aligning its education with international standards. The Department stands out for its strong international alignment, having been accredited by RICS since 2014, and for its multidisciplinary, industry-focused approach combining valuation, investment, planning, law, and project management. With close links to both the public and private sectors, the department plays a key role in shaping professional standards, supporting employability, and contributing to the development and internationalisation of the real estate sector in Türkiye.
