The UK Government has announced its Warm Homes Plan, setting out how it will help people find ways to save money on energy bills and transform building stock into low-carbon homes that are fit for the future.

RICS President Nick Maclean, said:

“The Warm Homes Plan is a critical step towards improving the UK's housing stock. Enabling retrofit through strong investment will ensure that surveying professionals can support the delivery of desperately needed safer, warmer and more affordable homes.

“This holistic approach recognises the need for coordinated, whole-house solutions to cut emissions, lower bills and improve comfort.

“Ambition at scale depends on quality and competence. RICS is already delivering professional standards, assurance and skills to support this effort, including the new residential retrofit pilot pathway to membership. We are ready to work with the Government to seize this opportunity to upgrade homes across the country."
