Overview

Artificial intelligence is moving quickly from individual tools and prompts into more capable systems that can support end-to-end professional workflows. For surveyors and built environment professionals, this creates new opportunities to improve productivity, strengthen decision-making, and rethink how routine knowledge work gets done.

This practical CPD session will explore how AI is beginning to evolve from simple chat-based tools into agents, workflows, skills and feedback loops - explained in a clear, non-technical way. The session will look at what these ideas mean in practice, how they could apply across surveying, cost management, project delivery and client service.

Rather than focusing on technical detail, the session will help attendees understand the direction of travel: how AI can support repeatable tasks, connect information, assist with judgement, and create new ways of working. It will also consider the human, organisational and governance questions that come with adopting AI responsibly.

This session is aimed at RICS members and built environment professionals who want to move beyond the basics and understand how AI may shape the next generation of professional practice.
