RICS in Scotland: Glasgow - Site Visit: Reknitting Strathclyde - Transforming Two Buildings into One

In-Person

Overview

Members and candidates are invited to join RICS in Scotland for an exclusive site visit and networking event at the University of Strathclyde’s Student Learning & Teaching Hub.

Hear from Christoph Ackermann, Architect and Principal at the Glasgow studio, as he shares the design journey behind the project and the innovative approach to ‘reknitting’ two existing buildings into a single, connected teaching and learning environment.

The event will be hosted and organised by Kevin Alexander Keane FRICS, Board Member of RICS in Scotland, and Ann-Marie Campbell MRICS, Head of Operations at the Technology & Innovation Centre, University of Strathclyde.

The evening will include a short presentation exploring the design and delivery of the project, followed by a guided site tour and an opportunity to see the spaces first-hand. We’ll finish with a Q&A session and informal networking.

The event will include:

  • presentation from Christoph Ackermann, Architect and Principal
  • insight into the design, challenges and delivery of the project
  • guided tour of the Student Learning & Teaching Hub
  • Q&A and discussion
  • networking with fellow RICS professionals and built environment colleagues.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain first-hand insight into the transformation of an existing building, hear directly from the design team, and connect with professionals from across the Scottish built environment sector.
