Join Birmingham Local Member Group for an exclusive technical visit to the National Buried Infrastructure Facility, part of the UK Collaboratorium for Research on Infrastructure and Cities, based at the University of Birmingham.
This ‘one-of-its-kind’ facility supports advanced research, education, and professional training in the field of underground infrastructure. The NBIF includes a large-scale test pit (25m x 10m x 5m deep) with a moveable floor section to simulate ground movement and soil-structure interaction. The site is equipped with cutting-edge sensing technologies, including fibre optics and various monitoring systems, providing a unique insight into subsurface engineering challenges.
Due to limited number of places, this event is only open to RICS members and candidates.
