Join RICS Matrics Aberdeen for an insightful session, designed to support candidates preparing for their Assessment of Professional Competence (APC).
This event offers a unique opportunity to observe a simulated APC final assessment interview, with a particular focus on mandatory competencies. Attendees will gain valuable insight into how assessors structure their questions, the level of detail expected in responses, and the techniques candidates use to demonstrate competence effectively.
By watching the mock interview unfold, participants will become more familiar with the interview format, questioning style, and common areas of challenge. The session aims to build confidence, enhance understanding of expectations, and help candidates refine their own approach to answering competency-based questions.
There will also be a talk by Mhairi Robertson MRICS who is both an assessor and councillor who will be carrying out the questioning. In Mhairi’s talk she will cover the common pitfalls when it comes to the interview and also how candidates can best prepare. There will also be an opportunity for candidates to ask Mhairi questions on the APC process.
Whether you are nearing your final assessment or at an earlier stage in your APC journey, this session will provide practical guidance and a clearer understanding of how to succeed in the interview.
Photographs may be taken at this event. If you do not wish to be photographed, please make the Matrics host and/or photographer aware.
