RICS in Oman- An introduction to the new Sultanate of Oman Building Code

Join us for the first Oman CPD of the year, which will be an insightful briefing session on the Oman Building Code in collaboration with CIOB, with the support of the QS Oman Association.

This key session will be delivered by Fatin Shalwani, Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning (MoHUP), who formed part of the MoHUP personnel who were responsible for co-ordinating consultations and drafting of the new Building Code launched by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning in 2025. The new building code is the first update of such since the 1980’s and will help to shape the built environment within the Sultanate of Oman in the decades to come, specifically under the auspices of Vision 2040 in the Sultanate of Oman.

  • Navigating the code – how it affects projects in the Sultanate
  • Troubleshooting
  • Enforcement
