Overview
Asbestos remains one of the most significant health and compliance risks in the built environment, particularly in buildings constructed before 2000. For surveyors and building control professionals, understanding how asbestos is identified, managed and regulated is essential when inspecting buildings, advising clients and planning refurbishment works.
This webinar explores key compliance requirements relating to asbestos in the UK and Ireland, including the duties placed on building owners and professionals under the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012. The session highlights the role of surveyors in identifying asbestos risks, understanding the different types of asbestos surveys, and advising clients on appropriate management and mitigation strategies.
The session also examines common challenges encountered in existing buildings, particularly during refurbishment and maintenance works, and provide practical insights to support professionals in navigating asbestos-related compliance responsibilities.
