Valuation 2019 comes back with a refreshed programme. Featuring five streams for each valuation group, this event will tackle topics that are most relevant to you and your professional development. Join us as we start off the day with a series of plenary talks such as the global market conditions and predictions and what it takes to value iconic properties. Stay up to date with the latest changes to the Red Book and join a panel discussion where we will be exploring the challenges and opportunities in the valuation sector while addressing topics such as disruptive technology, attracting the next generation and reflecting on uncertainty and unpredictability in the valuation profession.  Network with industry colleagues at lunch before breaking out into sessions that are relevant to your profession.

  • Real Estate

    This breakout will focus on some of the upcoming guidance and will take a closer look at comparable evidence in the property sector and how to deal with shortage of evidence. Other sessions will focus on flooding, impact on property and Red Book implications and crucial property taxation update.

  • Machinery and Business Assets

    What does it take to calculate the reinstatement cost assessment for plant and machinery? How do you carry out valuation of a business that is about to cease trading and what are the valuation considerations of compulsory purchase of plant and machinery? Attend this breakout to find out more and to hear the latest issues arising in insolvency and the impact on machinery and business assets.

  • Arts and Antiques

    Art litigation, money laundering, lack of art provenance and managing public art just some of the issues that an arts and antiques surveyor can get involved in. Dwell further into these topics as our speakers shed light on tips and tricks for avoiding disputes, ensuring the correct policies are set in place for high value dealers, the importance of art provenance and the growing value of public art.

  • Business Valuation

    Attend this breakout to hear more from KPMG and EY about challenges in financial reporting and implications of higher interest rate for valuation. Understand the role of intellectual property and intangible assets in facilitating finance while you gain a deeper understanding of the current UK IP Valuation market. Furthermore, listen to a crucial update from the HMRC on shares and asset (SAV) valuation, SAV and RICS accreditation and topical valuation issues encountered by the HMRC.

  • Trade Related Property

    With a crucial update on the alternatives market sector, case studies and worked examples on unusual valuation scenarios and the impact of minimum energy efficiency standards on pub lets, this session will equip you with the most up to date information and knowledge so that you can be in a better place to give professional advice to clients.
