A service to remember all RICS professionals who died or suffered as a result of war.
From FreeBook now
RICS professionals, families and staff are invited to attend the Service of Remembrance to remember those from our institution who have died as a result of war. The service will be held at St Margaret’s Church, next to Westminster Abbey, London SW1P 3JX at 13:00 on Monday 12 November.
The service, marking the centenary of the end of the first world war, is open to all those from the land, property and construction world. As time goes on it is important we take time to come together and ensure that the brave actions of our forefathers are not forgotten as generations move on. Members of both ICE and RICS have long been part of ensuring the freedom of nations and whether for those who have served in the past or in the present, it is important that we remember their service.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
A particular invitation to attend the service is extended to those whose family members, friends and work colleagues have undertaken military service.
It is a moving occasion with excellent music, well-worth attending.
Those attending are invited back to RICS for tea, coffee and cake afterwards.
