Overview

The fundamental principles and practices of asset management including the most common challenges faced within this area. This course is delivered by a highly experienced asset management trainer who will provide a guide on the methods used to maximise the performance of corporate property assets whether the portfolio consists of a single property or a large range of mixed-use property.

You will be guided through the differences between properties held as investments or operational assets and will assess the risks involved when managing these assets.

By applying what you have learned, you will be able to support successful asset management solutions that can save your company time, money, and lots of management issues.

This course will be most useful to:

  • Primary: Trainees or assistant property or asset managers, property, construction and facilities practitioners directly involved in asset management, Property Administrators

Structure

The course will be delivered combining technical references and practical exercises. An exercise on drafting an asset management plan will allow you to apply the knowledge acquired during the day.  An open discussion environment will also allow attendees to consolidate their knowledge and ideas with their peers.

Meet the trainer

Mr Gary Man FRICS Managing Director of GCA Asset Services Limited

Mr Gary Man FRICS is the Managing Director of Greater China Asset Services, Global Business Valuation Sub-Board Member, Asia Business Valuation Committee Chairman and Asia Valuation Professional Group Member, and has more than 25 years’ experience in valuation and consultancy. He has been engaged in numerous assignments covering the Asia-Pacific region, in particular in countries such as China, Taiwan and Hong Kong, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand and further west to India, Kazakhstan and the Republic of the Maldives.

Gary also has academic experience. He was a visiting lecturer at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) lecturing on Business and Intangible Assets Valuation and other topics. In China, he has given lectures on similar subjects for the ZheJiang University in Hangzhou City. He was also invited to be the External Examiner for the MSc programme in International Real Estate (ZheJiang) for the PolyU.
