Defects and Rectification

Understand how defects are classified and who is responsible for putting them right

The defects liability or rectification period begins on practical completion and typically lasts between six and twelve months.   Practical completion is a key moment for the contract administrator who must understand their rights and responsibilities under the contract to ensure that the work is completed to the correct standard.
