Join Aberdeen Matrics for an insightful CPD exploring how engineering innovation can extend infrastructure life by 50+ years and support Net Zero ambitions.
This session will look at how hidden deterioration develops within infrastructure assets, why traditional visual inspections can miss early-stage defects, and how advanced inspection and diagnostic techniques can identify issues before they become critical.
Topics include:
- Understanding the hidden deterioration cycle in concrete and structural assets
- Advanced inspection technologies and data-led diagnostics
- Measuring and assessing asset condition to prioritise intervention
- Repair and life-extension strategies that reduce demolition and embodied carbon
- Real project case studies, including major infrastructure applications such as HS2
The session highlights how extending the life of existing infrastructure can improve resilience, reduce environmental impact, and accelerate progress towards Net Zero.
