This is an offer to support professionals in upskilling in this key area through foundation products and sits alongside our wider portfolio of CPD and training on building and fire safety.
The tragic incident of the Grenfell Tower fire and its subsequent repercussions have cast significant doubts on the adequacy of the regulatory frameworks and competence of individuals. This has catalysed the development of several legislative changes, most notably the Fire Safety Act 2021 and the Building Safety Act 2022.
Given the heightened emphasis on fire safety in structures, it is paramount that all built environment professionals overseeing the design, construction, & management of buildings involving fire safety measures are not only well-versed with legislative, and standards changes but also meet the escalating standards of competency.
This competency module is designed to equip participants with the skills required to understand fire safety principles, assess fire safety levels in existing buildings and upcoming building projects. Furthermore, it offers insights on how to suggest pragmatic enhancements to counteract potential risks. Additionally, the module will delve into the best practices for fire safety management, drawing lessons from past mishaps and their origins.
Module 1: Fire Safety and Protection
Module 2: Fire risk assessment and management
