Join us for this special Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors Northern Ireland ‘Stay Informed CPD’ event — an opportunity for members to connect with the RICS Northern Ireland Regional Board including our RICS NI Chair Brian Reid FRICS and Vice Chair Andrew Cunnigham MRICS and meet the newly appointed Regional Market Director for the North, Roger Esson MRICS.
Roger will share his perspective on the emerging opportunities for the profession and outline his vision for the future of the built and natural environment sector. Drawing on more than 30 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor working predominantly in the energy and engineering construction industries, he brings a practical and informed view of the challenges and opportunities facing the profession today. His presentation will explore where our energy currently comes from, how the energy landscape is evolving, and the critical role surveyors will play in decarbonising both commercial and domestic property.
Members will also hear from Nigel Sellars FRICS from the RICS Professional Practice team, who will provide an overview of current Professional Practice activity. This will include insights into the standards pipeline, covering topics ranging from flooding and resilience to the growing role of artificial intelligence, as well as the latest work underway to update the Assessment of Professional Competence (APC).
The session will also keep members up to date with key developments within RICS, including changes to the CPD Framework, the introduction of the new RICS Member App, and new pilot routes into membership. These include programmes focused on Residential Retrofit (AssocRICS), Sustainability Advisory (MRICS), and Data Analytics and Intelligence (MRICS).
