Governing Council membership

  • The November Governing Council meeting was chaired by Nick Maclean OBE FRICS as Acting President.
  • This was the final Council meeting for eight current Governing Council members: Birgit Hempel, Uche Obi, Kenneth Kwan, Gordon Johnston, Jon Milner, Simon Radford, Blane Perrotton and Steven Latta. The Acting President thanked those Council members for their service to RICS.
  • The 2026 Senior Vice President, Susanne Eickermann-Riepe, and eight incoming Governing Council members - Ayda Chamcham, Vicky Clark, Alan Colston, Cartier Charles, Alexandra Faciu, Emily Forth, Paul Roberts and Lorraine Williamson - whose terms of office start on 1 January 2026, were invited to attend the meeting as non-voting observers as part of their induction to Governing Council.
     

RICS Board Quarterly Report

  • Council received and discussed the latest quarterly report from the RICS Board, including the Q3 2025 CEO report and performance reporting pack.
     

Standards & Regulation Board Quarterly Report

  • Council received and discussed the latest quarterly report from the Standards & Regulation Board.
     

Budget 2026 and Business Planning

  • Council approved the 2026 RICS budget and the three-year outline business plan for 2026-2028, as recommended by the RICS Board and the Standards & Regulation Board.
     

Corporate Key Results & Measurables 2026

  • Council discussed and noted the corporate key results & measurables for 2026, which had been approved by the RICS Board.
     

Concessions 2026

  • Council ratified the RICS Board’s decision for a new approach to concessions due for implementation in 2027.
     

Diversity Equity & Inclusion

  • Council received and discussed a detailed update on DEI strategy, priorities, activities and measures of success looking ahead to 2030.
     

RICS Independent Review

  • Council received a briefing on the Independent Review, which was now underway, and the timeframe for reporting of the Review’s findings in 2026.

  • Council noted that there were no new questions from members for Council to consider at its November meeting.
